About Family Weekend

The University of North Texas would like to invite you, your family, and your friends to participate in Family Weekend 2008. Whether you live near or far, we want you to join your UNT family for a weekend of fun! This three-day event will be packed with numerous activities, meals, and the opportunity to cheer on the Mean Green football team as they take on Louisiana- Lafayette. This year, Family Weekend will be held Friday, October 10th – Sunday, October 12th.

Some of the activities for Family Weekend 2008 will include:

The President’s Breakfast

Hosted by UNT President Gretchen M. Bataille, this traditional event allows UNT family and friends to meet and learn more about UNT’s plans for the future.

5K Fun Run/1 Mile Walk

On Saturday, runners and walkers of all ages and skill levels enjoy a course that runs through our beautiful campus. Proceeds from the Fun Run/Walk benefit UNT Scholarships.

Tailgating

One of the most popular family weekend activities, tailgating includes a cookout and carnival with something for everyone in the family. During this time, family and friends can also watch the UNT Green Brigade perform their pre-game show.

Football
